In case you’ve missed out on where you can find David Tlale’s latest designs, it’s time you visited the African Pride Hotel in Melrose Arch if you happen to be in Jozi. His decision to use this location is due to the fact that his brand is known and loved for offering its experience of African pride, and therefore showcasing and collaborating with the African Pride Hotel was an obvious choice.

This is just a temporary home for a three-day pop-up store that will occur every three weeks for the time being. This decision comes after his latest showcases in Lagos, Nigeria and Europe – where his work was witnessed by Vogue editor Suzy Menkes, supermodel Naomi Campbell and British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful – and is his way of trying to change the mentality and shopping habits of his clients.

“We currently don’t have a full-on store, we operate from our studio so we are making it easy for customers to come and experience us” – said Tlale

Tlale is not only introducing his designs to the guests that visit the hotel, but also to local customers. His collections in the pop-up store will change and evolve over the weeks to come.

Major pieces from his ‘Corporate Espionage’ campaign will be available for sale. You can expect to find his high-end, luxury designs alongside a variety of white blouses and both his Modular V-neck and A-line Azania dresses.

He has not created this couture pop-up for mass sales, but rather as a space for collector pieces.
