Gucci has a strong commitment to promoting artistic and cultural heritage across the globe. This is why the brand is so excited to announce it’s collaboration with director Harmony Korine for a new limited-edition publication.
The showstopper Pre-Fall 2019 collection by Gucci’s Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, has been photographed and captured by the American film director, artist and screenwriter, Harmony Korine, in the historic, ancient towns of Herculaneum and Pompeii, in the Campania region of Southern Italy.
The two historic locations – which both happen to be UNESCO World Heritage Sites – were carefully selected by Michele, who strongly believes that the past is essential for our understanding and envisioning of the future, and thus should not be forgotten or neglected.
Korine has illustrated both the front and back cover of this limited-edition book, as well as a unique slipcase for each and every one. To create something even more special, the spines of the books are designed so that, when placed next to one another, five of the publications form an image.
Gucci by Harmony Korine will be distributed by IDEA Books, the London-based independent publisher, from the beginning of June. It will also be available online.
Please contact Gucci via the Sandton City or V&A Waterfront branch for further information.
