The Met Gala is the biggest night in fashion across the globe and after having been cancelled due to the pandemic in 2020, celebrities made sure that the iconic event came back with a bang.

Most think of the Met Gala as a chance for celebrities to show off in extravagant creations from the world’s most talented designers, and while that is true, it is more importantly a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Based on what most of the A-listers wore, there was a substantial amount of questioning as to what the actual dress code was for this year’s gala. The official theme was in fact ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,’ and while some of the ensembles were flawlessly on point, others raised some speculation as to whether or not they were even remotely relevant.

However, despite the confusion some looks may have caused, it is always the most wild and ostentatious that grab our attention and in that regard many of those that walked the red carpet did not disappoint.
