Congratulations to Our Lucky Winner: Jo-Mari Kock!

We have officially announced our lucky winner who will be receiving a custom-made, designer gown up to the value of R45 000 by the iconic designer: Gert-Johan Coetzee. A HUGE congratulations goes to the lovely Jo-Mari Kock who has also recently become engaged and now has the sensational opportunity to create the wedding dress of her dreams.
Jo-Mari, her mother, maid of honour, Mara Glennie (The Founder of TEARS Foundation) and myself met with Gert-Johan Coetzee in his studio in the heart of Johannesburg to hand over our funds that were raised throughout the duration of the competition and to begin the beautiful process of the amazing prize.
We managed to raise R10 000 – a huge thank you to everyone who donated and made this possible. The TEARS Foundation addresses the harsh reality about rape and sexual abuse and provides instant referrals to the nearest assistance facilities by form of a “USSD” system (*134*7355# ), (similar to the “call back” sms) and to promote a change in societal attitudes through educational and awareness programmes.

It is such an incredible achievement to have given back towards a charity that is addressing such a pressing and relevant issue, while also making somebody’s dream come true! It truly was a project brought to life with an amazing team and was a unique opportunity to make you feel good, while doing something great.
I am so unbelievably happy to have partnered up with TEARS and hope to raise more funds in the future as Style Authority grows.
